On Oct. 28, Texas’ 15th Court of Appeals temporarily stayed a trial-court order allowing state Rep. Gina Hinojosa to inspect unredacted communications between Gov. Greg Abbott’s office and Elon Musk’s companies. The stay pauses the access order while the appellate court considers Abbott’s petition to dismiss the lawsuit; it is not a ruling on the underlying dispute.

The trial judge had directed the governor’s office to provide access to 1,374 pages by Oct. 29. Hinojosa brought the case in her official capacity as a legislator after seeking records about Musk-linked business interests. Abbott’s office argues the request improperly invokes legislative privileges; that position is a party’s argument, not a court finding.
