Genuine Update is an independent digital news journal. We publish journalism and public-interest information. We are not affiliated with Microsoft or any software vendor, and we do not distribute software, installers, operating-system updates, or device downloads.

Accuracy and verification

We aim to publish information that is accurate, fair, and supported by evidence. Reporters and editors check names, dates, figures, quotations, and material claims against reliable sources. For fast-moving or disputed stories, we seek corroboration and clearly identify what is confirmed, alleged, or still unknown.

Sources and attribution

Stories identify and link to the records, agencies, experts, organizations, and newsrooms that support the reporting whenever practical. We favor primary documents and direct authorities for legal, election, public-safety, medical, scientific, and financial claims. We do not reproduce another publisher's full article as a substitute for the original.

Independence and conflicts

Editorial judgments are made in the public interest. Advertising and commercial relationships do not determine news conclusions. Sponsored or promotional material must be clearly labeled. Contributors should disclose a material personal or financial conflict that could reasonably affect their work.

Fairness, allegations, and privacy

An arrest, charge, lawsuit, or accusation is not proof of guilt or liability. We use precise attribution, seek relevant responses, and avoid sensational treatment. We take special care with minors, victims, private individuals, graphic material, and information that could cause needless harm.

Images, video, and rights

Photographs and videos are used only when their source and relevance are clear. Credits identify the photographer, publisher, or authorized source when known. We do not remove watermarks, bypass access controls, or present unrelated imagery as evidence of an event.

Automation and editorial responsibility

Software may assist with monitoring, transcription, organization, formatting, or drafting. An automated tool is not treated as an authority. Published claims should remain traceable to credited sources, and Genuine Update remains responsible for the final story, headline, labels, and corrections.

Updates and corrections

Material developments may be added with a visible update note. Substantive errors are corrected transparently in accordance with our Corrections Policy. Editorial questions may be sent to newsroom@genuineupdate.info.
