Nigeria’s National Economic Council says it has endorsed a 90-day economic action plan aimed at easing living costs. Presented at the council’s 161st meeting on Oct. 22, the plan lists food affordability, tax harmonisation, completion of high-impact projects, reducing investment bottlenecks and targeted household support among its priorities.
The council also approved a national dashboard to track projects and monitor how savings from fuel-subsidy removal are used. The announcement did not set out costings, delivery dates or measurable targets. The endorsement is not evidence that prices have fallen or aid has begun.
