Updated July 15, 2026 — Spain defeated France 2–0 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, to claim the first place in the 2026 World Cup final.
Mikel Oyarzabal converted a first-half penalty after Lamine Yamal drew a foul in the area. Pedro Porro added the second goal after halftime. Spain recorded its sixth shutout in seven tournament matches and limited Kylian Mbappé to three shots, none on target.

This update replaces the match preview previously published here. The semifinal result is final; the identity of Spain's opponent remains undecided until the second semifinal is complete.
